· Developed original painting for Senior Appreciation Day at SOME* that was recreated by the residents

· Provided materials list and coordinated with onsite administrator to arrange setup and execution of painting

· Directed class participants day of, on techniques and application of acrylic paint to achieve likeness of my original

As an emerging teaching artist, it was important for me to take opportunities that would allow me to interact with students at all levels of skills and at varying stages of life.

*So Others Might Eat (S..O.M.E) is a local homeless advocacy organization in the Washington, DC Region. Through its many outreach avenues they are often seeking volunteers to engage with their members. It was my pleasure to guide a group of 15 seniors at at Art Appreciate Extravaganza at one of SOME’s Senior Living facilities.
